The winners of the 2015 Petite Le Mans race
The Petite Le Mans race is a sports car race that takes place every year in Braselton, Georgia. Teams from all over the world compete in this endurance race, but not many successfully finish the race.
Unlike other similar competitions, this race lasts for not less than 24 hours. This means that the drivers needs to stay awake and alert for that time period and be ready to face the weather and darkness. Since the race is in the middle of the summer, the temperature is high and rain is very common.
Apart from the stress of the drivers, they also have to deal with the mechanical problems of the car. There aren’t many vehicles that can race for 24 hours without having to have something be repaired.
In 2015, the Petite Le Mans race took place on a rainy day. Many were afraid that at least one team would crash, which thankfully did not happen. As a matter of fact, the officials stopped the race for a few hours because the conditions were too dangerous for anyone to drive safely.
Last year, the winners were Nick Tandy and Patrick Pilet, driving the amazing Porsche 911 RSR car. The team of Porsche North America won the race and it was the first time a GT car had won, but the rain, in this case, helped the ‘ach4iteam’ achieve their goal.
