Valentino Rossi to race for Yamaha.

It has been a rather eventful year for Yamaha racer Valentino Rossi. The 37-year old Italian biker and Grand Prix Winner is currently running for Yamaha and plans to do so at least for the next two years. This fact has become news especially after the announcement of Jorge Lorenzo leaving the Yamaha team to which he belonged for nine years, to sign up for Ducati, at the end of this season.

Last year, when Lorenzo won to Rossi by five points, relationships got a bit fractured between the two of them. Rossi believed that Lorenzo´s compatriots, Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez were helping him win the title. Lorenzo fired back by stating, "It's obvious there are younger riders who are faster than him. It must be frustrating not to have the speed that would have allowed him to win more races and arrive in Valencia with a greater advantage.

Valentino Rossi has been a Yamaha driver since 2013. He started to ride wheels at a very early age. He won his first regional championship in 1992, right after moving from go-carts. He went on to winning the Italian Sport Production Championship in 1994 and the Italian 125cc Championship in 1995.

On 2013, Rossi won his first MotoGP since Malaysia in 2010, the Dutch TT Assen. He was third at the German Grand Prix on July 14 at the Sachsenring. He was also third place at the United States Grand Prix in Laguna Seca.

The following year started pretty well for Rossi. He started with second-place finishes at the Qatar Grand Prix. He then ended in second and third places in other important competitions. Rossi had an accident that took him to the hospital at the Aragon Grand Prix. His two wins this year are the San Marino Grand Prix at Misano and at Phillip Island, where he benefited from the fact that Marquez had suffered and accident.

The years 2015 and 2016 have seen five wins from Rossi, which is definitively a great asset to the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP.
