Who is Part of the Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team?

For the 2018 Superbike World Championship, the riders for Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team are Leon Camier and Jake Gagne. The two signed up with the team before the start of the season.

Jake Gagne was the replacement rider of Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team in the 2017 season after the death of Nicky Hayden in May. His first race for the team was at the Laguna Seca round in July 2017. Later in the season, he substituted for the injured Stefan Bradl at Magny-Cours and Losail.

Leon Camier used to be part of the MV Agusta Reparto Corse during the 2015 Superbike World Championship series. His first full season in the Superbike championships was in 2010. He was the former British Superbike Champion in 2009.

Both Camier and Gagne are riding the factory CBR1000RR SP2 bike from Honda. Team Manager Marco Chini said that the team is happy to have both riders on board for the season. The two riders have good chemistry on the track and the team hopes for good results from them.

Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team signed Jason O’Halloran as a backup rider in case Gagne or Camier was deemed unfit during the season. It was first reported that both Gagne and Camier would be back in the Imola leg of the series. Both riders didn’t participate at the previous round in Assen.

Camier didn’t get the clearance from the medical staff. As a result, O’Halloran replaced him at the Imola World Superbike round. O’Halloran crashed in Race 1 and Gagne retired in Race 2, which is a disappointing result for the Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team at the legendary Italian circuit.

The team has two weeks to regroup before round six of the World Superbike series at Donington Park. If Camier comes back from injury, then O’Halloran will be back as the team’s substitute rider.
