Ryan Truex returns to NASCAR Xfinity in 2018

The 25-year-old racer, Ryan Truex, revealed that he had signed with Kaulig Racing in the Xfinity Series for the entire 2018 season. This represents the return of Truex to NASCAR Xfinity and the moment he had been waiting for.

Ryan will be replacing Blake Coch in the No. 11.  He now hopes to take his new team to the next level.

"I’m extremely excited to be making the move back into the Xfinity Series," Truex said. "In just two years, Kaulig Racing has proved to be a highly competitive team each race, and it should be a great fit. Last season, I saw a lot of improvements in my racing, and hopefully this year I can continue the success Kaulig Racing has built and compete for the championship at the end of the year."

The announcement of Ryan Truex's incorporation to Kaulig Racing was made on January 9, 2018. Truex is the younger brother of Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) champion Martin Truex Jr.

He won back-to-back K&N Pro Series East championships and then drove for Joe Gibbs Racing, Michael Waltrip Racing, HScott Racing, and BK Racing. Truex has always been regarded as a good racer but he had not had the chance to compete with a competitive organization.

Last season, he returned to full-time competition at the Truck Series for Hattori Racing Enterprises, where he ended ninth, the first one to be cut from the playoffs.

The team owner Matt Kaulig was excited about how this incorporation represents the significant growth his team has had since its foundation.

“When we started this team two years ago I knew we had the potential to be one of the strongest teams in the Xfinity Series and I think we’re within reach of that goal,” Matt Kaulig said. “Ryan is going to be a great addition to the team and I have some high hopes for this season. Each year we keep improving as a team and I think this season we’ll be able to get some wins and make another run in the playoffs. Everyone at Kaulig Racing is excited to have Ryan on board and it should be a great, fun year.”

Ryan Truex will be debuting for the team at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, February 17th, 2018.
