Vandals Damage More Than 60 Parked Cars

Many cars owners were shocked earlier this week when they found out that the cars which they had parked were vandalized. One victim, Ralph Mercado, relived the moment when he discovered that his car was vandalized with the public.

Mercado stated that as he was he walking he realized that there was broken glass on the streets which were leading to his car and upon reaching the place where he had parked his Ford Bronco he realized that all of its windows had been smashed except for the car’s windshield.

“My first thoughts were, ‘Oh my God. What did I do to deserve something like that? Why me?” he said.
Upon reporting the matter to the police, Mercado realized that he was not the only one who had his car vandalized.
“They told me at that time there were about 30 or 40 vehicles that got hit on the south side in this area,” Mercado said.

According to the Des Moines police, there had been 60 victims who have reported similar incidents over the past few days.
On Saturday morning Corie Collins opened her blinds only to realize that he had also fallen prey to such an act.
“I looked out at my car … and I saw the glass on the ground and the window shot out,” he said.

According to Collins, she believes she has the surveillance footage of the people who are behind the vandalism which has been witnessed of late adding that her CCTV camera captured the perpetrators as they drove down her street late Friday night.
All the victims who spoke with the police said that they were not shaken up by the latest events and that they still have faith on their neighborhood.
