Mini is a British Automotive Brand owned by the BMW group which specializes in small cars. It is a legendary car with its history going back to the 1950s. After a successful run in the foreign countries, the iconic Mini has arrived in India and has four variants on offer for Indian customers. The cult hatchback from BMW group has been seen as the legend in many Hollywood flicks with “the Italian Job “being the most significant. The Mini comes in with four variants: The Original Mini (3-door), The Mini (5-door), The Mini (convertible) & the extended Mini Countryman. The engine has both diesel and petrol engine options. It is powered by a powerful 1.6 L engines apart from newly launched Cooper S which comes in with a 2.0 L engine the most powerful in its class. All the variants come in with an all-wheel drive making it a perfect option for all terrain. This piece of art will make you look around with its trendy looks and eye catching colors.
I had the privilege to drive this German machine for a long 500 km drive from Kolkata to Puri in the Mini (5- seater). With a drive ranging from congested city rides to highway cruises. Within city limits, it is easy to maneuver making it an ideal city rider for our daily commute. The 6-speed automatic gearbox makes it that much easier. As we move on the highway the real throttle response of the powerful engine comes into the picture.
